Filmmaking Frenzy is your home on the web for filmmaking competitions. Voting is ongoing for the Red Bull Beats Per Minute Frenzy right now and you can see all of those videos right here.

You can check out movies from past Frenzies in our Past Frenzies section, and you can keep up to date with future Frenzies here on this page or in the nav bar at the top.

When you sign up for any competition you'll need to register as a Filmmaking Frenzy user first, then that account will be tied to all of the events you enter and you'll be able to access your info in one centralized location. But don't worry, you can still change your team name from Skippy Monkey Jumpers to Harpoon Happies whenever you feel like it.

Individual competitions may have different registration fees, but signing on as a FilmmakingFrenzy.com user will always be totally free, so several people from your team can register and join the community as it builds. We also post information, videos, photos and updates at our Filmmaking Frenzy Facebook community.

CURRENT FRENZIES: We currently have two active frenzies: the RED BULL BEATS PER MINUTE: DFEST EDITION Frenzy, a 48 hour music video making competition that is in the voting stage, and UNNECESSARY SEQUELS, a month long contest for filmmakers to create a trailer for a sequel to an existing feature film. That contest is still in the shooting phase, and you can sign up to compete!

UNNECESSARY SEQUELS Kick Off Party Tonight!
The Unnecessary Sequels 2008 Filmmaking Frenzy kicks off tonight at midnight, and we'll be posting your genre/prop/dialogue assignments here on this page at exactly midnight CST.

For those of you in the Austin area, however, you're invited to join us at the official kick off party tonight at Maggie Mae's on Sixth Street, where we'll be mingling with other filmmakers and announcing the team assignments at 11:30pm, giving you a precious extra half hour to plot your Unnecessary Sequel trailer.

We should be set up in the club room at Maggie Mae's by 9:30pm with some karaoke, dancing, and emceeing from the Alamo's own Zack Carlson (who you HAVE to see doing some karaoke, trust me), then those of you who want to join us across the street for the midnight premiere of the most necessary sequel of all time, THE DARK KNIGHT, can come over to the Ritz!
